APRIL WRAP UP

Hello people of the internet!

April has ended like a week ago and May has welcomed us. I read a total of 7 books which is lower than my March reading month but that's okay! Since I really enjoyed all the books that I've read for the month of April. And I have an excuse since it's summer and vacation is going on, I'm gonna stop rambling and here's my April Wrap up.

Title: The Kiss Of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
Ratings: 3.5/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: A princess must find her place in a reborn world.

She flees on her wedding day.

She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor's secret collection.

She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.

She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.

The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can't abide. Like having to marry someone she's never met to secure a political alliance.

Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love.

Thoughts on the book: It was alright. The plot was pretty slow and I predicted the ''revelations'' even before it was revealed. Overall I enjoyed it, I will be reading the next one but I don't think I would be buying the physical copy of it. If you want to read my full thoughts on this book, click here.

Title: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Ratings: 4/5 bananas
Goodreads description: Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
Thoughts on the book: I really liked it but it wasn't the best one yet. I felt that the romance was forced and it was sort of insta love for me. But I have read the Destroy Me novella and I really really want to read the next book! If you want to read my full thoughts on this book, click here.

Title: The Duff by Kody Keplinger
Ratings: 4.5/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.

Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.
Thoughts on the book: I really enjoyed this book! But it wasn't the all time favorite kind of enjoyed that's why it's 4.5 but overall it was touching and beautiful. If you want to read my full review, click here.

Title: Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
Ratings: 4/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics. But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics...nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart - the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning - and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

Thoughts on the book: It was really good and the plot twists just punched my face but while reading the book, my mind was always wandering around and I didn't understand most of the conversations. Still, A very good book. It's Brandon Sanderson after all. If you want to read my full review, click here.

Title: Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott
Ratings: 3/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: Time is slipping away....

Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can't determine what's wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She's lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she's helpless to change anything.

Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It's an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother's illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there's no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.

The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can't trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?

Thoughts on the book: It was fast paced and the journey was sort of fun but I didn't connect with any of the characters and it reminded me so much of Hunger games and The Amazing Race (The TV show)... And The Croods (The movie) My full review explains a lot more. If you want to read that, click here.

If you guys didn't know, I participated in a Read-A-Thon called Dewey's 24-hour read-a-thon and I didn't make a Wrap Up post about it since I only read 1 book and 1 novella. Yay me. Basically the TV distracted me from reading. Anyway here's my Wrap Up for the Read-A-Thon.

Title: Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
Ratings: 3/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: ONE OF THE BOYS

What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

Thoughts on the book: It was a fun, contemporary, romance. with a LOVE TRIANGLE. I didn't connect with the characters and Jordan was just frustrating. If you want to read my full thoughts on this book, click here

Title: Destroy me by Tahereh Mafi
Ratings: 4.5/5 bananas
Goodreads Description: *description contains spoilers for those who haven't read Shatter Me yet*
Thoughts on the book: This is a must read if you read Shatter Me. I loved Warner even more! Tahereh Mafi's writing is beautiful as ever. This novella made me want to read Unravel me right away.
