April TBR

Hello lovely people, March is over and April has welcomed us. And I'm in a slumpish mood but I will still read some books. I hope. Because I've put down 3 books but thank God, I've found a book that I made me want to read. Well, I'm slow at reading it but hooray for some progress. Ok I'm gonna stop talking about nonsense and let's start with my April TBR

Title:The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
Goodreads description: A princess must find her place in a reborn world.

She flees on her wedding day.

She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor's secret collection.

She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.

She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.

The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can't abide. Like having to marry someone she's never met to secure a political alliance.

Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love

I just feel the need to say something: I'm currently reading this baby :) And I'm enjoying it. This is the book that made me want to get back to reading with this slumpish mood that I'm in.

Title: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Goodreads Description: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

So begins Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen's witty comedy of manners--one of the most popular novels of all time--that features splendidly civilized sparring between the proud Mr. Darcy and the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet as they play out their spirited courtship in a series of eighteenth-century drawing-room intrigues.

I just feel the need to say something: I started this and put it down. Why the hell am I reading it anyway? Well, lovely person, I'm reading this for my 2015 book challenge.  And I've watched the movie, and I loved it. But I can't get pass the writing style. I'm so new to this so I just have to get pass that to like the story.

Title: Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
Goodreads Description: ONE OF THE BOYS

What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

I just feel the need to say something: picked it up, put it back down. Two words to describe it that's why I put it back down. Predictable. Cliche. Reading this for my 2015 book challenge.

Title: Red Rising by Pierce Brown
Goodreads Description: The Earth is dying. Darrow is a Red, a miner in the interior of Mars. His mission is to extract enough precious elements to one day tame the surface of the planet and allow humans to live on it. The Reds are humanity's last hope.

Or so it appears, until the day Darrow discovers it's all a lie. That Mars has been habitable - and inhabited - for generations, by a class of people calling themselves the Golds. A class of people who look down on Darrow and his fellows as slave labour, to be exploited and worked to death without a second thought.

Until the day that Darrow, with the help of a mysterious group of rebels, disguises himself as a Gold and infiltrates their command school, intent on taking down his oppressors from the inside. But the command school is a battlefield - and Darrow isn't the only student with an agenda

I just feel the need to say something: Okay. This book was good but I put it down because I didn't really feel it. The spark wasn't there so, I placed it back down but I would pick it up. Sometime in April.

* * * * *
So those are the books that I'm planning on reading this month. Maybe I wouldn't stick to this tbr and pick up another book but these are the book that I wish that I would stick to. That's all for today, I hope you have a great night. I'll talk to you guys soon and happy reading.
